Ralph A. Barile Sr. earns Pre-Planning Certification

The National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) has awarded the nationally recognized Certified Pre-Planning Consultant (CPC) designation to Ralph A. Barile, Sr. of Barile Family Funeral Homes of Stoneham and Reading, Massachusetts. The CPC certification program is considered the standard of excellence in funeral service for individuals who help families plan funerals in advance. In order to become a Certified Pre-Planning Consultant, candidates must meet specific program requirements and pass an examination based on a standards manual. CPC’s must demonstrate their ongoing professional commitment by fulfilling learning requirements as they renew their certification every four years.

Ralph A. Barile purchased the Barile Family Funeral Home of Stoneham in December of 1993 and the Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home of Reading March of 2003. A graduate of New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences class of 1970, Ralph has been a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for over 40 years, serving many funeral homes within the Boston area and surrounding communities. A native of Pittsfield, Ralph and his wife Luanne (Nardella) of Somerville, have been residents in the Town of Stoneham for more than 15 years. Being very active in the community, Ralph was President of the Stoneham Chamber of Commerce and The Rotary Club of Stoneham. He is a member of St. Patrick Church; St. Patrick’s Holy Name Society, Sons of Italy, The Appian Club and The Reading Knights of Columbus Council 1031. Ralph continues to serve in many clubs and organizations throughout Stoneham and Reading.

NFDA’s Certified Pre-Planning Consultant program, established in 1996, recognizes qualified, knowledgeable individuals who are committed to provide ethical and caring advance planning services for all families. “Those who have earned the CPC designation have achieved a unique career distinction that is highly valued by families that want to plan meaningful funerals in advance,” according to Colleen Murphy Klein, who manages the program.

Ralph had the honor of both of his sons joining him in the family business. Kevin M. Barile and Ralph A. Barile, Jr. joined him to continue to grow and serve the communities of Reading and Stoneham in 2002. Kevin is married and has two children, Brenna and Michael. Ralph is married to Jillian (LeBlanc) of Stoneham.
